For me, every January is the month for trying a new blog software.
This is my habit for years. I’d like to try every new softwares, but I want to avoid spending all weekends for it. Do you remember how many window managers you have tried in your life?
So this year’s choise is Hakyll, a static site generator library written in Haskell. As a former Jekyll customer, I can say that Hakyll is a mix of Jekyll and Rake. Conversion rules are directly customer facing, and you need to write an internal Haskell-based DSL to configure them.
Writing the DSL is hard, because I don’t know Haskell much. In the meantime, I’ve been wanted to learn the language again. Having a Hakyll-based blog would be a good opportunity to do it.
